From the children

My name is Nouv Srey. I am 17 years old. I study at Saramrith High School in Grade 9. I live in Infantia School. Before I lived with my very poor family and had to study and find money to support the family.

When my mother got sick I had no money to buy medicine. Loktha took care of her treatment until she got better. After that I came to live with Loktha. Since I lived with Venerable I am hopeful in my life because I am not worried about school.

At first we lived in a temple, in 2001 we had a boarding school, very good and nice. I am very happy in my school because Infantia can support all poor children to have school, food, clothes, money. We study subjects like: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Khmer and Computer skills, taught by Khmer and foreign teachers.

My country is very poor because of war and corruption so a lot of children cannot go to school. But now my province is luckier than another province because we have Venerable and Infantia School which is supported by Europeans, Canadians, Singaporeans and other kind people.

In the future I hope that a lot of children will get good jobs and be good people for my country. All children cannot forget Infantia, Venerable, and all supporters. Now I have a lot of brothers and sisters and we love each other because we live under one roof.

My name is Lin. I am 16 years old and studying in Grade 9. I am very happy to stay with Loktha because he is very kind to us. Loktha has found teachers from Singapore, Phnom Penh and Kampong Chhnang to teach us.

I like to live in Infantia School because there are many friends, good school, good clinic, food, clothes, computers and a TV for when we are free. We always play together. Sometimes Loktha watches over the children when they play because he worries they might get into danger. I worry about Loktha because he works very hard until three oÕclock in the morning. We listen to the advice of Loktha and all the teachers. Sometimes our school has a party for us. It makes us very happy.

When I study finish I want to go into business because I want to help Loktha very much and I can look after him.

The school provides everything for me and all the other children like food, clothing, medicine, a place to stay and money for the government school. I must study hard because when I grow up I will work at Infantia or another place. When I have a lot of money, I will help Infantia School, other poor families and my country.

My name is Van Samnang. I am 18 years old. I have lived with the Venerable since I was 12 years old. Last time we lived at the temple with a few children. Now we have many children because we have Infantia School where we can live and study. I like Infantia and the Venerable very much because when all the children go to school they are given some pocket money, books, clothes, bicycle and everything needed for school.

Before we go to school we have nice food so now we can study very well. We never worry about money or food, we only study hard. I always think that when I grow up I will help Infantia and the Venerable back.

My name is Vannak, I am 21 years old. I came to live with Loktha almost eight years ago. I am very happy to stay here and very lucky because I have everything like food, English classes and Computer classes with good teachers, especially foreign teachers from Singapore.

Now I work at Infantia School, my job is to look after the children. I want to look after them well so that they can all get good jobs.

My name is Sokim, I am 22 years old. I live at Infantia School and I am a Big Sister to the children here. I take care of the children together with Chea and Vannak. I started work at Infantia 5 months ago.

I love Loktha and all the children at Infantia. I think Infantia is very good because it helps poor children from remote areas by giving them education and knowledge. Infantia is now responsible for 98 children. The school has to help them study and provide pocket money, clothes and food. All the children who live at Infantia School will have good in their future.
